Hello and welcome to October already. Wow were has the year gone. I would like to share my take on the October challenge. The mood board was a mix of goth and shabby. I made a dark shabby chic tag pulling the lace and winged bugs on to the tag. I Started with the base, on of the large tags from the store. After applung a layer of shabby rice paper on the background, I pulled the floaral print out with the Florish stencil and some paste. I grabbed a dark old photo and decieded to use that as my focal point. I built it up with the Birds and Spiderweb Flourish boarder. Heat embossing the elements. I added a little flower cluster with more elements pulled from the mood board to pull this murky tag together. Enjoy I look forward to seeing the entries this month. It should be spooktacular.
Here is a short video of the creative process. Enjoy
Here are a few close-ups for you.
I Spiderweb flourish and birds were embossed with Andy Skinner Embossing Powder. It adds that texture and multi-colour appearance to them.

I finished off the back of the tag with paper from the late 1800’s. And old pharmacy booklet. The paper is so frail and to read it is over the top with the remedies and marketing. So neat to read.

I love the rice paper detail on the background, I add a little more flourish with the stencil and get things to pop with lift. The moulded head just adds a little more creepy to the dark elegant piece.

Thank you for stopping by today! Happy Crafting
