I recent joined an altered box exchange, I got to exchange with another fabulous artist Toni Burks, she has a great shabby chic style, and a ton of beautiful inspiration to share, I have the great pleasure to add some of her art to my collection. In exchange I get to share this altered box with her.
Starting on the cover, I used the mini frames to showcase the opening of the box. I usually cut my chipboard to fit my project. I think it adds to the uniqueness of the collection. I also added the Flourish 22 to the focal point to give a little extra flair.
I used a pre-made box form Graphic 45, Using the Botanicabella collection I matched a variety of chipboard to go with the paper. I made a video of the process but will give you some closeups of the inserts.
Using the inserts that accompany the box, I made flaps, pockets, and tags to match the collection of bugs, flowers and sea life. After figuring out all the inserts, it was a matter for getting them all to fit in the box. With most of the chipboard, like this dandelion , I added colour with a brush and spray.
Using the layered wings, I painted the two portions before adding a glaze to the inside.
This seahorse was perfectly matched tot he paper collection, I painted the seahorse and then added a crackle glaze over to give it an aged look.
Using the wavy music note boarder (I add used some of it on another project) I distressed it with a little paint to match the collection. I love pulling all the details of the paper into the project.
Like I promised here is a video of the project. Enjoy!
Thank you for stopping by today!
