I totally love the Christmas Count Down Nicolle has in the store. The kids and I saw this project up on Pinterest and figured we should try it, the Aunties would love it. It is an Advent Calendar made out of PVC pipe and its filled with all kinds of great treats for everyone.
I had Adam do the hard part with cutting the PVC pipe, the rest was up to Olivia and I. She helped put this together as a gift to the Aunties. We made special home made Caramels, stuff some of the days with doggie treats for their “boys”, there’s also some lips stuff for the Aunties and of course their is also some alcohol to help celebrate the season.
After we got all the pipes covered with paper, it was a matter of putting it all together. It had to be strong enough to hold the weight of the bottles, so I used some industrial strength glue.
We put on the covers, I used 2 punches. I had one that was bigger than the 2 inch hole and then I used the 2 inch circle. Olivia wanted to mix up the numbers so her Aunts had to work to find the days.
I made a little arrangement of flowers and ribbon and used the Holly and Berries Flourish for a little more dimension, I used spray to add colour to match the paper collection. I added the title Christmas Countdown and the Year 2018. Olivia says we need to make a new tradition, next year the advent calendar has to be passed along to another person. I think it’s a great new tradition.
Here is a video of how this all came together.
I hope you enjoy.

What a wonderful idea for an advent calendar! I love that there is plenty of room in the pipes for treats. Beautiful!
