Welcome back to anther card and tag set. This one is more of a shabby chic feel to it. Not the Christmas theme that I have been doing but I still needed to make some cards for another situation.
This set I made because I wanted to do something with a vintage look and feel to it. I also wanted to incorporate the new distress clocks in the store. I fell in love with the paper collection with the flowers and the clocks, perfect for the vintage feel I was going for.
And with details on the paper collection, I decided to cover the whole background with the gears stencil. I used a clear glossy medium to cover the whole background. After I let it dry and a quick clear goat of gesso. I added a generous layer of crackle glaze. I let this dry naturally and then decided to pull the gears out of the medium with some spray. I covered the whole background with a fair amount of spray, it acutely pools in the valleys of the stencil to get the outline of the gears.
After all the drying, It was a matter of prepping the steampunk clocks and gears. Using a variety of embossing powder and mediums I get the desired look, topping it all off with some wax. I used the gear set 3 and the smaller one inch gears, they fit perfectly to fill in the spaces.
Now its just time to assemble the card and tags, I gather my flowers and start to araonge the layers and pop the clocks on. I gather a variety of flowers on the surface and tuck in the mini leaves 4 to finish off the clusters.
I needed a sympathy card. (it seems like you just need to have some on hand at all times) So I finished them with the small sentiments. Covering with some contrasting wax’s.
I topped of the tag with some seam binding, I was going to dye it but decided against it in the end. Here are a few close-ups for your viewing.
Thank you for stopping by today!
