Creative Embellishments Altered Cutting Board

Hello all to share a new project made for Creative Embellishments . Nicolle has these awesome new home decor wood pieces in the store. They are beautiful and solid. I wanted to make a home decor project with the Cutting Board, I had an idea of what I wanted to do it was just a matter of execution. I used inspiration from the November mood board.

Here is a short video of how I stained and coured the colour to the project.

I used oil based paints to stain the wood, using a variation of sienna and raw umber. I sponged on the paint and wiped off he extra paint until I had the right shade of browns.

Using the 3 Trees Stencil, I shaded the base of the cutting board with a few inks. It added some shades and shadows to the piece. Gathering flowers, Good Food Good Life Title and the acorn clusters, I add colour by painting with some sprays. I can control the spray better with a brush and add various colours to each of the chipboards.

I finished off the project with random mica flakes around the cluster and the title “Good Food Good Life” and matched some ribbon to hang the piece.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoy this rustic inspiration.
