“Adore” Shabby Chic Shadow Box

Hi All, I just want to share a cute shabby chic shadow box I made. I used the Mixed Media Place Mood board this month for inspiration. Its such a shabby board this month and I love how soft and elegant the colour palette is this month and  I just wanting to create something pretty. I couldn’t decided between a canvas or a shadow box, I decided to go with the box.

Shabby Box Adore

I made a video of the creative process.

I started out with prepping the box, I never know how this will evolve, I just know I may start one way and sometimes it goes completely different than how I envision it. After prepping the box, I started with some stamping with the Distressed Moroccan Stamp.

After a few layers of various papers, I used the Greek Key Pattern Stencil. Sometimes the texture will be really visible and sometimes not so much, but it is how it evolves.

After the background work, I built up the focal point, using the distress harlequin pieces to add some lift. I added various spray’s to the pieces layering.

After finishing the layers and adding all the little details with the mica flakes and pearls, I wanted to add a title to the piece and used the “Adore” from the Family Small Word Set. I used the same technique with the sprays on the Adore and placed on the box.

Here are a few more close ups for you.
