DaVinci Journal made for Creative Embellishments

As many of you know that I work in health care. I am among a small group of nurses that specialise in trauma, and critical care cases in the ER. I wanted to make a journal book that we could keep track of little tid bits, that we could just keep in the trauma room. I wanted to make it neutral, I had to satisfy the guys I work with, and I love the works of DaVinci so this worked perfect.

Creative Embellishments Medical Journal

This is a simple journal cover that adds elements of paper along with a little mixed media and texture. Here is a short video of the creative process.

Enjoy the close-ups.

Is started on the base with the Distress Grid Stencil, one of my favourite ones. I used some crackle paste to add extra details.

I randomly stamped using browns and black with the Distress Circle Stamp and the Halftone Circle Stamp.

Using the New Distressed Punchinella chipboard, I stamped a little more detail right on the chipboard with the Distress Screen Stamp before painting with a spray before I put it all together in some simple layers. Nothing to big or fancy, seeing its just going to sit at work.

Wow I bet your colleagues also think it super cool! Gorgeous details. Love it a lot and fantastic paper with drawings of da Vinci on it.

  2. This is great, Heather! So much nicer to keep in the trauma room than just a plain journal.
