Hi All, I would like to share today a vintage looking layout of my little sister Amy, she always has a great smile and such a warm and careing heart. I filtered the photo to make it look more aged and exposed. This picture reminds me of the flapper era of the roaring 20’s. The sassiness, the bob hair style and the newsboy cap that was so popular during that timeframe.
Heres a short vidoe of the creative process.
I always start with somekind of background work on my layouts, weither its stamping, adding texture with pastes or using paints and sprays. I used the distress morracan stamp to pull more of the vintage patterns from the other paper. And with this layout I used the Distress Weave Stencil to add some texture that flowed with the paper pattern.
I started out with the doily frames and the honeycomb stitch boarder. I altered with some baked textures to add a little more sassy to the chipboard.
I love layers and between the velvet texture of the ribbon, and the thick enamel of the embossingon the chipboard, it adds to that old feeling of expensive textiles and fabrics that where so saught after at that time.
