“Sandy Toes” Mixed Media Layout

Sandy Toes and Sunkissed Nose

Sharing a new page today, catching up on holiday photos from some of our trips, This is an older picture from when we took the kids down to the Cayman Islands. This photo was of a sunken ship and a hidden stair case emerging from the sea. It took us getting lost, and being helped by a local to find the staircase and the hidden beach.  We finally found it.

CE Beach July 2018

I did some fun techniques with this page, starting with the title “Sandy Toes and Sunkissed Nose”

Adding microbeads to the title and then adding a little alcohol ink to add a little more flavour to the title.

I love layers, the more the better. I used the Mesh Pieces to help add more details, along with some cheese cloth and large seashells.

I left most of the chipboard natural and some of the other pieces, I added more alcohol ink to. It was just a matter of how it looked and I like the variation. I did finish of the page with dry brushing with gesso over most of the elements.

I hope you enjoyed the close-ups.

  1. Wonderful page with all the lovely layers and embellishments! Finding a sunken ship and a hidden staircase emerging from the sea must have been so much fun! I love living in a seaside town, being able to go for walks along the beach and pick up shells and treasures to use in my art.
