Lamp shade OTP

Flying unicorns OTP (off the page) project this month rocked.  We got this chicken wire jar holder Lydia had the idea of turning it upside down and making a light out of. So I snagged the idea from her and went with it.

I started by grabbing a bunch of my flat metal adornments, I needed to fill in the spaces of the chicken wire. This had some evolution to it as it progressed.  One idea went to another.

After finally getting the base down, I didn’t like all the gaps it had left so I added another layer of flat adornments.

I mixed a combo of texture pastes together to get some more effect for the painting later.

I started with the top using some melage and Other fun goodies I have.

So first coat of black gesso on.  And off to work I go to let it dry.

I felt that I need to add some more detail to the sides so I made to small arrangements using some paper and metal, I also had what I thought was a brilliant idea to have dangles hanging down…………lets just say it was a nice thought at the time

More black gesso.

And it’s time to paint…….oh what colours should a girl use.

And now for the pretty pictures.

Thank you for stopping by today.
