Hello it’s Heather today. Just wanted to share a pictorial on a little mixed media project I have recently finished.
Here is a vase I altered to match me new kitchen. Our new kitchen is very natural in colors and I wanted it to match and add little pop color. So here goes my creative process.
Here is the vase. Huge!
( I apologize ahead of time, I do a ton of scraping at night when the house is quiet and the kids are in bed, some of the pictures might be dark.)
I painted the outside with gesso.
I used some modeling paste and added some texture. I used a variety of stencils you can find in the store.
I picked out a ton of goodies to put on there.
After picking and choosing I found some fun stuff to alter. I used a boat load of Gel medium on this project.
One side done, do I or do I not add another side. I did another side.
The other side.
Now ready for some Gesso.
Layer one of Gesso.
And more Gesso.
Now it is ready for some color.
I started with some brown for the base color.
Added some gold.
Now it some time to start added some color to the flower clusters and after multiple layers of lots of colors.
layer after layer of paint.
Just a some of the goods.
Now for the pretty close ups.
I hope you enjoyed the pictorial, today and if you have any questions please just let me know.
~Heather
