“LOVE”

So February brings hearts, beautiful shades of pinks and reds, and all those wonderful caring words like “LOVE”. Flying Unicorns “Off The Page” project this month was this word placard. IMG_9153

It originally started as a plain black wooden word block.

After a ton of goopy Black Texture Sand and Gel Medium,  I added all the fun little trinkets and flowers. And if anyone knows me, they know my kitchen was just gutted so the DH let me keep all the fun handles and hinges. You all might be seeing a lot of these in the future.

So Pre Gesso, it looks kinda ugly. Time for bed and to let it sit overnight to dry.

After a very thick layer of black gesso, its time to start having some fun.

I started with some white acrylic paint and mixed some mica powder that came in the Mixed Art kit. I dry brushed the first layer on. I then used some Black Cherry, then  finished it off with some gold Silks from my own stash.

Here are some finished pictures enjoy!
