Art Canvas

Art Canvas

I spend a day just playing around this week. I had a great lunch with an old friend, we did  some antiquing, which I found some good buys and some fun stuff to alter.  And I got to do some playing around getting my fingers dirty. So overall a very nice day.

I Gathered my stash of goodies and a blank canvas. I wanted to add some texture to the base so I Mod Podged some tissue paper and added some paper doilies to give it some more texture.

I further added some more texture and used some crackle paste and stencil.

Now it was just trying to make some sense out of the goods. I had found this old pencil and pen set at a antique shop. So it was tricky trying to find a way for it to look unique but cool without altering the set.

So this is the long part. Cover everything with Gesso. Do you go white or do you go black? I chose black today.

After it was all covered, I really wanted the pen/pencil set to stand out with the amount of detail on them so I left them gold. I drop bruished the rest with my color combo.

so now for some pretty close-ups.
