Multiple Canvas

Multiple Canvas

I am currently hosting the Flying Unicorn Facebook Challenge this Month. I decided to do multiple canvases.

I was at the dollar store of all places and found this multiple mini canvas that was painted with some god-awful flowers in the most horrendous late 70’s color combos. But I was drawn to the concept and wanted to give it a try.

Full canvas, water mark

Most of my art work is made to match my color scheme in my house or as gifts, so I wanted to go bigger that the putrid mini’s that where at the store.

Some of my creative process:

Supplies gathered and first layer of texture down.

Laying everything out and pre-arranging and staging.

First layer down and starting to add color, and the rest is history.

And now to some pretty pictures.

My center canvas was 8×10. I had the brilliant idea to have all of the canvas’s connected in some unique way. More on that later.

I used two smaller canvases on both sides off set.

  Canvas 2    canvas 5

And I used even smaller on the outer most edge and off set that also to help keep the flow of the piece.

So now back to “having them all connected.” Ha. Brilliant until I actually tried to hang it. Lets just say I had to walk away at one point after I put one too many nail holes in my bedroom wall. Only two canvases are actually connected and it’s just an optical illusion on on the others that they are. After much attempts to not chuck the whole piece across the room I am happy.

So now for some pretty close ups.

There is a ton of texture on this piece.

So back to the Challenge…..I would like to see more than just one. Simple right. Either to have one canvas flow to another, use symmetry or just come up with some unique piece of work. I look forward to seeing what transpires. I will be putting up a RAK for some lucky creation.

Thank you for stopping by and get creating.
