“Thinking of You”

This might be a longer post today. I have been wanting to catch everyone up on the happenings here. First of all this is my one hundredth post. Yeah!!! wow. I never thought I would get here when I started this blogging thing. I never really knew what blogging was, then I figured out the bare minimal needed to somewhat survive in the blogging community. So much to still learn.

On other notes, summer has been crazy busy. We have been trying to finish up projects with the house which only leads to more projects and more money spent. That’s life right. So I have been picking up more hours at work. I did manage to get another huge garden out of the project! I actually had to tell Adam to make the garden smaller. He about had a heart attack when I said that.

So today I am posting some cards I did for Flying Unicorn’s Stitched and Altered Challenge that Lainie put up in the forum. One is a sympathy card (I will go into the whole funeral(s) later) and the other is a Thank you card.

I have been taking pictures outside and this was taken in the new garden. It was too windy to take it up at the pond like I have been doing. But for all you hosta lovers out there, you can see H. Sun Power in the back. 🙂

This card was actually made for the funeral director Dana for all her care and wonderful work she did with Leni. I made two cards with slight variations on both of them.

Part of the challenge to to stitch either by hand or machine. I had to get out the sewing machine,  I would have to say the kids used it last, it was covered in blue crayon. I should have taken a picture of that.

The other part of the challenge was to alter the flowers. That is something I love doing. I used some Shimmerz to add some color and texture.

These turned out gorgeous. I love the color and alterations.

Hopefully things will slow down in the gardens now. I have been moving and shifting all kinds of things. I will try and put a post up with the new gardens. Thank you all for taking the time to stop by.
