Prima Art Venture-Our Adventure

Prima art venture 2016 – Our Adventure

This is a long post today.
I had the wonderful pleasure of spending the week with some amazing people. Lydia, Barbara and I decided to make our own adventure and head to sunny California to make some art. Needless to say it was so much more than that.

Our trip started out pretty eventful. Lydia late coming in. Lost luggage and me ravishing for food waiting on my dear friend Lydia. On a side bar, Barbara has fired me as choufer from our last adventure so she was waiting on us both. But we made it and had a nice dinner and some catching up from the last visit together.

Wednesday started with a rumble in so many ways, thunder, earthquake, cold showers for some but off to Art Venture we went. I will confess, I have never been to such a large event for a passion many of us share, so to see the amount of women and gentleman in attendance was a overwhelming. And when those doors opened………………..

Let’s get this party going. What an opener, Sharon set the stage for the rest of the teaching crew. Such fabulous projects and product. Going into it, pictures just don’t do justice. But to see the product up close and to have tips and tricks on what works and doesn’t work was great. Why re-invent the wheel, right?

John’s class was fun, and energetic. He has this crazy out going, slightly off (in a great way) personality. I personally felt he was being reserved. Hehe. He showcased some relics from Sandra’s line and some techniques with the gel and mica. There is a huge learning curve with the powders.

What can I say about Frank……..its Frank. Everybody loves Frank. His mini albums are always amazing. Tons of details and the new paper lines coming out are phenomenal.

What a day that first day was.

After a nice breakfast and some good company.

My favorite started off the day. This was the one class I was really looking forward to. I love the mixed media and just to see Finnabair in real life. (And yes she is real)…..peench me. So many techniques and tricks and just the thought process was phenomenal. I have watched videos but to actually have hands on, ask questions, see how it works was one of the most valuable classes to me. Her paint line that is coming out is so versatile and a little goes a long. Dual colors, this will be something I will be experiment more with.

And I did win the raffle of Finn’s class example. (peench me again!)

What can I say about Vicki. One of the most warm bubbly energetic person’s I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She’s a natural leader and very welcoming to all skill levels and would make anyone feel comfortable with such a wide variety of classes that where taught this week.

Sandra’s has this ora about her, whether it’s her worldly travels, her amazing friends or her shear talent and persona. Being able to do so many unique things to her relics was great to learn. She had so many examples, nice to see and touch and just ask questions was worth it. Although I think I left with more questions than when I arrived. 🙂

I also had the chance to meet Tracy in person. We have been friends online and my daughter paints with Tracy on her mixed media Monday ustream darn-near every Monday. Olivia was mad when she found out I was going to California so I had to find some way to make it up to her. I was on a mission, So FaceTime from Tracy it was. What a memory! (Tracy is taller than I thought lol).

We had an amazing time, some pros and cons to the trip and classes. But over all it was phenomenal. Some great new friends made from all over the world. Lots of laughs. Finally getting to meet some of these “friends” you only know from online, but you pick up right where you left off.

And new adventures concocted and already in the works. Who knows Art Venture 2017 and CHA? Would Arizona be able to handle us? Time will tell.

Thanks for taking some time and reading about our adventure. Enjoy your day and I hope to feature some new techniques I learned this week very soon. Keep an eye out.

Heather.
