Oh Happy Day

Oh Happy Day

A friend of mine had a birthday coming up and that just gives me the excuse to make something. So I made this mixed media birthday card using some goodies with the Flying Unicorn May KOM.

Unfortunately we all had to work on Lacy’s birthday so we had to make the best of it.  So we had lots of cakes, flowers, cards and great friends.

The birthday girl Lacy, center of attention.

I used the flower print from the French Riviera Collection, and just added a ton of texture the base. I find that pre-gessoing the base with some clear gesso helps the colors stay vibrant.

Patience also helps or a good heat gun to dry between layers, so the colors done bleed into each other.

So Lacy’s birthday was a hit and so was the card along with all the other yummy cakes and treats. I hope you enjoy the card too. Thanks for stoping by today.
